CORYS to upgrade the Iarnród Éireann simulators

Following an international tender CORYS has signed contracts with Iarnród Éireann to upgrade the 8 CORYS simulators supplied in 2010.

The Iarnród Éireann driver training system is extensively used to provide basic and advanced driving-skills training for trainee and experienced drivers. The contract will comprise a complete upgrade to the driver training system that will include porting to Windows 10, upgrades to the 9 train models, integrating the new GSM-R train radio system, porting over 400km of visual database to CORYS latest 3D engine as well as the addition of cab enclosures and motion seats.

Commenting on the contract John Brosnan, Iarnród Éireann Training Manager said
