First contract in Scotland
Ansaldo STS has awarded CORYS a tender for the supply of a subway driving simulator in Glasgow, Scotland.
The end user, SPT (Strathclyde Partnership for Transport), will use the simulator to train drivers as it integrates both a new CBTC signalling system and rolling stock from Stadler.
The simulator is a modified compact desk simulator and will include the entire track network (10.5km of line and 15 stations).
Delivery is expected in the first quarter of 2019, several months before the commissioning of the new Stadler rolling stock and Ansaldo STS CBTC signalling system.
Erin Ryan, CORYS Account Manager said: "This contract demonstrates our continued position as a leading metro simulator provider, after San Francisco Muni (USA), London Underground (United Kingdom), VAG (Germany), Metrô Rio (Brazil) and Cairo Metro Organization (Egypt) »
