CORYS simulates the cardboard manufacture

CORYS simulates the cardboard manufacture

Hydrocarbons | November 2018

Two players in the paperboard industry have joined forces to order a training simulator from CORYS, dedicated to the use of corrugated board manufacturing machines.

UNIDIS Strategy and Future – a Training Organisation for the Paperboard Inter-sector - and DS Smith - a leading manufacturer of packaging solutions - called on CORYS for the renovation of the simulator, built 20 years ago under the ancestor of INDISS technology. Thanks to this update, it will benefit from the new features available in IndissPlus ® such as:

  • The display of operating graphs in student or instructor mode with a visualization of defects
  • The use of instructor scenarios and the implementation of training modules
  • Language (versions available in different languages) and unit management a very useful feature for DS Smith which is established in 37 countries.

The simulator shows the different layers of assembled paper by the manufacturing machines. It simulates defects depending on operating conditions such as humidity or roller adjustment.

Didier Paen, business development sales manager at CORYS, explains: "This project reveals CORYS' ability to extend its simulation field to other industries."
