Renovation contracts in three American power plants

Power | December 2019

Exelon Corporation (USA), with the largest nuclear fleet in North America, has awarded CORYS Inc. several contracts.

This involves increasing the input/output modules of the Calvert Cliffs power plant simulator and integrating containment models for the Quad Cities power plant. For the Clinton plant, engineering models will be developed to improve the fidelity and reliability of the simulator. Existing primary system models will be replaced by advanced THOR 3-G thermohydraulic models. The reactor core will be based on the S3R neutronics code.

Thus, all Exelon simulators will be based on THOR-3G models.
