Siemens Mobility selects CORYS simulators

Siemens Mobility selects CORYS to supply simulators for London’s new Piccadilly line trains

CORYS has been awarded a major contract with Siemens Mobility to design and build 4 train driving simulators for the new generation Tube trains to serve the Piccadilly line.

Transport for London (TfL) has ordered the Siemens Mobility Inspiro trains as part of its Piccadilly Line Upgrade to replace the existing 1970s fleet. The contract includes options, exercisable at TfL’s discretion, to procure new rolling stock for the Bakerloo, Central and Waterloo & City lines which could mean an additional 11 simulators being manufactured.

Christian Zinser, Auxiliary Functions Manager at Siemens Mobility, said

“The Train Driving Simulators are an important scope of work within the project, as they will enable London Underground’s train drivers to operate the new trains delivered by Siemens competently and safely. We are glad to have selected CORYS as the solution partner for this work.”

John Madden, Commercial Manager of CORYS said

“This is a significant and prestigious contract following an extensive tendering process. This will be one of the largest European simulator projects and we look forward to developing a long term collaboration with Siemens Mobility and their customer TfL.”
