Delivery of the Capital Metro simulator

CORYS delivered the desk training simulator to Capital Metro, the public transportation operator in Austin, United States, as part of a broader project to install Enhanced Automatic Train Control on its rail infrastructure and rolling stock.

The simulator replicates the Stadler GTW multiple units and all the lines that connect the town of Leander to the Austin Convention Center, thanks to a total of some 32 miles of CGI.

The railway tracks and rolling stock on these lines were recently equipped with Positive Train Control (PTC), an Enhanced Automatic Train Control (E-ATC), according to the new requirements of the Federal Railroad Administration. These requirements are accompanied by a major restructuring of the rail infrastructure and rolling stock, for which Capital Metro’s operators need to be trained.
