EMR drivers to be trained on a new simulator

Hitachi Rail Limited has awarded CORYS the tender to supply a replica train driving simulator for their UK rail operator East Midlands Railway (EMR).

The simulator will represent the new Class 810 AT300 SXR and be delivered ahead of the train entering passenger service in early 2023. The simulator will have the latest CORYS driver training technology including an advanced train model simulating normal and degraded modes, a Tablet Instructor Station and the latest visual database technology.

Mark Medley, HITACHI L&D Manager for projects explained:

“We have chosen CORYS to supply the new Class 810 AT300 SXR simulator as they have a proven track record in delivering quality driver training simulators around the world.  We are excited to see the product as it develops and the benefits this will bring to the successful introduction of the new trains”

Marie Pezé, CORYS Account Manager said: “We will be providing a proven and state of the art solution to support the East Midlands Railway operational training needs levering our 25 year experience in the UK and our previous supply of four Azuma AT300 replica simulators to LNER.”
