On 15 and 16 October, CORYS welcomed five representatives from GTS, which operates the Elizabeth line on behalf of Transport for London, to its Grenoble site. The visit marked the pre-testing of the Class 345 Aventra Ultra-Light Simulators (ULS), ahead of the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
Over two days, the GTS team used the simulators hands-on and gave early feedback on train behaviour, the different signalling system that includes CBTC and ETCS, and driver controls. Raising these points before the FAT lets CORYS fine-tune the simulators in good time.
Since the contract award, the scope has been extended to three training sites around London instead of two, with 10 ULS and three Instructor Stations.
The FAT is scheduled before the end of the year.
