BLS Cargo Nord has chosen CORYS to equip its training teams with driving simulators for international freight operations.
Each simulator, with instructor and observer stations, will feature a complete SIEMENS Vectron locomotive model, including eco-driving, so that drivers can practise optimising the energy consumption of the rolling stock they are operating. Belgian, German and Dutch routes generated with Unreal Engine will allow trainees to practise border crossings in realistic conditions, before facing them in real service. The Unreal route editor, also supplied, will enable BLS Cargo Nord to modify or extend the simulated routes on its own, keeping its training content aligned with its evolving operations.
Together, these features will help BLS Cargo Nord train its drivers for cross-border operations in a safe, flexible and autonomous way.
The simulators will be installed at two sites: Antwerp (Belgium) and Aachen (Germany).
We thank BLS Cargo Nord for its trust and look forward to supporting the training of its drivers.
