RET simulator fleet successfully upgraded: 8 more years of operaitons secured

CORYS has successfully completed the acceptance testing of RET’s renovated simulator fleet from January 19-22, 2026, marking a significant milestone in extending the operational life of these critical training assets.

The renovation encompassed RET’s complete simulator infrastructure, including four desk simulators, one replica full-scope simulator, one scenario preparation station, and two route learning simulators. The upgrade addressed critical obsolescence issues through a complete overhaul of the technical infrastructure, with the replacement of all PCs and the entire audio matrix system. This strategic intervention extends the simulators’ operational lifespan by 8 years, ensuring RET maintains its training capabilities well into the 2030s.

The partnership between CORYS and RET dates back to 2002 with the installation of the first simulator. Over two decades later, the fleet’s robustness continues to be demonstrated through intensive operational use. Total fleet operation reached 1,500 hours in 2024 and jumped to 2,558 hours in 2025. The replica full-scope simulator alone logged 500 hours in 2024 and 1,176 hours in 2025, representing a 135% increase that reflects both the simulators’ reliability and RET’s expanding training requirements.

All simulators remain under CORYS software maintenance contracts, ensuring ongoing updates, technical support, and optimal performance throughout their extended service life. This successful renovation demonstrates CORYS’s commitment to long-term customer partnerships, enabling training centres to maximise their return on investment while maintaining the highest standards of driver training.
