On August 1st, 2025, CORYS and Hydrogen Africa formalized a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), setting the foundation for long-term collaboration aimed at accelerating hydrogen skills development and energy transition initiatives across the African continent.
A Shared Vision for Clean Energy and Workforce Development
This agreement marks the first official collaboration between the two organizations, aligning their complementary strengths: CORYS’ deep expertise in simulation-based training solutions and Hydrogen Africa’s leadership in advancing the continent’s hydrogen agenda.
The partnership will initially focus on supporting the Hydrogen Africa Academy, an ambitious initiative to build local capacity and prepare a new generation of hydrogen professionals in Africa. However, both parties view the MoU as a flexible framework that will allow for the inclusion of future joint projects and regional initiatives.
Supporting African Capacity for a Global Energy Transition
Africa is uniquely positioned to play a critical role in the global hydrogen economy. With abundant renewable resources and increasing interest from public and private sectors, the continent has the potential to become a global exporter of clean hydrogen and derivatives such as ammonia and methanol.
However, the success of this transition will depend on the availability of a skilled workforce. That’s where simulation-based training comes in: enabling learners to experience and master industrial processes in a risk-free environment, while scaling up programs faster and more affordably than traditional training models.
Khensani B Matshata, Chief Executive Officer at Hydrogen-Africa said:
“Hydrogen Africa Investments looks forward to the partnership with CORYS to build the capacity of green skills needed for the energy transition in Africa.”
Charles Rosmorduc, CEO at CORYS stated:
“This partnership represents a shared belief in the power of knowledge and simulation to accelerate the energy transition in Africa. We're proud to support Hydrogen Africa in this journey.”

What’s Next?
The MoU was signed during a visit from Hydrogen Africa’s leadership to CORYS’ offices, where both parties reiterated their commitment to advancing sustainable, African-led energy solutions.
Looking ahead, both organizations will continue working closely to identify key milestones, align resources, and integrate simulation-based training into upcoming capacity-building efforts — starting with the Hydrogen Africa Academy and expanding beyond.
Stay tuned for more updates as this collaboration evolves and contributes to a cleaner, smarter, and more inclusive energy future for Africa.
